I’m writing todays post from my usual spot at The Flour Pot Bakery in Hove, basically my second home on Fridays. Today however, might be the last time I write from this exact flour pot as I am moving next week! I’m doing a whole post on that next week though so won’t reveal anything right now but I just wanted to start off this post with a farewell to Flour Pot, even though I’ve already scouted out the nearest Flour Pot bakery by my new flat!
Today I wanted to talk about an item that I don’t even think is a trend this season. But so what? Not everything you wear has to be on trend and don’t forget – somethings never really go out of style. One of these in my opinion is pinafores. I first fell in love with pinafores in primary school but they were more of a forced upon trend back then as I had to wear them to school. Now I feel a pinafore is one of those staple, versatile items that you need in your wardrobe. Topshop have been doing some great pinafore lately and the other day I managed to bag one in the sale! I originally spotted this pinafore at full price (£36) which I was too broke to buy at the time. It never left my mind though and I went on the search for other options such as a pinafore dress or full length style. Yet, the other day I popped in to Topshop and found the pinafore in the sale for £15! Much more in my price range during this time while moving flats. So I snapped it up and haven’t looked back since. I love how this piece is already proving its versatility. It looks great on its own, with a tee underneath and my personal favourite – over a turtle neck.
I’ve paired the look with my Louis Vuitton boots and a blazer. I think it creates such a cool and styled look, very Miu Miu this season. I loved shooting this outfit with my new found friend, Phoebe. We had a fantastic brunch at SIX in Hove before heading to Florian the florists to shoot and we got some great photos on Brunswick Square.
All photos were shot on my 35mm camera.
