So what trends did I spot most while at fashion week?
Firstly animal print was everywhere, it was hard to tell if I was at fashion week or on safari! Personally the trend isn’t for me but some people are so brilliant at styling animal print. Mainly I noticed it paired with bright contrasting colours – a real bold statement.
Another trend that was often seen was neon. This is definitely I trend I want to work on, you may have seen on my instagram a trick for incorporating neon in to an outfit by wearing neon socks. Of course though, this was fashion week and with a trend like neon, you have to go big or go home. My favourite way of styling neon that I saw was a neon turtle neck styled with beige clothing in the form of trousers or a coat. Still simple but very effective.
Of course, beige is a big trend this upcoming season and it’s also the trend I opted for during fashion week. I saw some really great styling with this trend. It’s a really versatile and a long lasting trend, anything you buy for it will last in your wardrobe. Lots of beige trousers, coats and jumpers were spotted paired with taupe, brown and conker shades for a subtle contrast.
Lastly, logo print was everywhere. From leggings to boots, tights to jumpers, everything had a brand logo emblazoned on it. This trend can be tricky as you don’t want it to be too over the top or look as if a brand just threw up their logo on you. Best styled with other items in block colours, this trend can look super cool when styled perfectly.
So on to my look. I normally say only choose one trend per outfit but in this look I incorporated 3 trends however they are all very complementary of each other and not over-powering. Firstly, a nod to the beige trend with this gorgeous blazer. I love how structured and verging on masculine this blazer is. Paired with cycling shorts that have been on trend for a couple of seasons now. I have to say these are so comfortable and very useful when running around London. I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of everyday knee high boots for ages and finally found my perfect pair here. Beautifully designed in a Celine style with a block heel, perfect for walking around London without my feet hurting! In fact I wore these two days in a row around London and they were incredibly comfortable. Lastly, I added a hair clip for a touch of chic.
